TRUE LOVE

To walk in true love is to abide in the righteousness of God by His example.  Knowing the character of God [love] prompts believers to see with their spirit those things in the world [the lust of the flesh, self, pride] and to recognize when this is operating in one's life.

Self-exalting behavior is not walking in love.  It is also nothing more than the desire to elevate oneself over and above God's Word.  Let's look at this.  Do you need to pat yourself on the back for your accomplishments rather than seeking God's approval?  Are you less than content when others seem to get more attention then you?  Have your career goals created internal conflict for you when your efforts are not acknowledged as you wish they were?  Is the need to "toot your own horn" getting louder every day?  If so, you're in the flesh-zone and it's time to move into the FOG!  That's my acronym for "Focusing On God" :)

Self-seeking people set themselves apart from intimacy with God and miss out on the revelation of Him through His precious Spirit.  Exceedingly, they walk more and more in their own desires [the flesh] instead of seeking Him and His Word.  Why stay rooted in fear instead of blooming in love?  Makes no sense to me!

Choose love.  To know God who is the Spirit is to walk in complete freedom in His unadulterated love.     "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2 Corinthinas:17 NKJV

Wow... I've got to get my friends to read this. You are amazing... I felt as if I had a divine appointment with the Father where he was whispering something that I needed to hear through you. That is not something that happens often, so one must pay attention to that still soft voice when it is in use. I don't always listen, but today He got through loud and clear so I've been happily speechless, listening to my thoughts clear away while enjoying the lovely, simple picture complimenting your prose.

It is very hard to get a mind to go silent... Your words have quieted my thoughts.

I think what I love the most about reading your blog is that you are so unafraid to be you... You are connected to the Father, and that very clearly shines through in everything you do.

Enjoy your day in the Rain and may God continue to bless you and your family. With warmest regards, C.

Hi Carol:  I'm glad you stopped by today.  One day we will meet for coffee, somehow. :)  I love your term "happily speechless" -- I'm smiling as I write this because so often I experience those words throughout the day.

When I take a concern to God or ask for something, right before I plead with Dad for the answer, He says, "okay, next problem" or the peace of His Spirit falls like rain on me and all I can do is cry.  Of course, having this happen in the McDonald's drive through always brings questions from some sweet person behind the window! What's wrong? ... they ask.  I say, Oh, nothing... just got a call from my Dad with good news. :)

Anyway, you are a joy and I'm truly blessed every time we connect.  Go in God's peace and love today and thanks again for your post. Barbara :)

We can tell where God is by the way you present His image to us.  Thank you for walking with God while you share with us.  Great post.

Hi Wayne:  Thanks for the post.  Your words remind me of the song, "Without You"  by Big Daddy Weave?  Have you ever heard of it?

Here are some of the lyrics -- the song is awesome!

Would we hear the sound,

Of breathing in, the dark?

Where would be life's spark,

Without You?

-------

Would the birds, ever sing?

Would the wind move through the trees?

Could I touch the grass so green, under this big sky so blue,

Without You?

----------

And the sun doesn't shine,

And my world stops spinning round,

Without You.

-------

Tell me where else could I ever find,

The peace that floods this heart of miine,

Without You.

-------

Who could fill the emptiness inside?

Who would ease the pain, in my broken heart?

Who would come in and abide, promise never to depart,

Without You?

Without Him, we live in a void.  I don't even want to try to live another moment without Christ.  Being in His Presence is all I need.  Thanks for the post Wayne.  I appreciate your kindness and encouraging thoughts and I value your friendship as my brother in Christ.  Barbara :)

Hey Wayne, you should check out "Every Time I Breathe" by Big Daddy Weave as well (it's a great song and available on iTunes).

Barbara, I would love to have coffee with you (and am honored and delighted to be invited).

Barbara: Love your avatar and this soul-filled post! You'll need to set the Good Book down for just a moment to sip your coffee. Hope I can share a cup with you too someday. Go forward in the Light!  -Pete

Thanks for sharing the song lyrics too - excellent.
