The quiet place of His Presence.

I have quiet time and I have quiet time in His Presence. The former is when I am still - waiting upon Him, meditating over worship and studying the Word.  The latter is when I rest - first thing in the morning over coffee, during the day when I daydream about Him and in prayer at night when I draw near to God in the silence.

In the quiet place of His Presence we have security.  Our security as believers isn't or shouldn't be dependent on our bank account balance or a full agenda of business for the day.  Rather, it comes by way of a deep and loving relationship with The Father.  When we know we are sheltered under His wings, in the company of angels, abiding in His perfect peace and mesmerized by the fullness of His love, then we are earthly secure.  For to feel and know the love of God both protects us from Satan's schemes and calls us to walk in the fullness of our inheritance as children of The Most High God.

God is our Father, the supreme example of an all-consuming, all-encompassing love, the only One who will never let us down, our hero and defender and the true lover of our soul.  In the quiet place of His Presence the character of God is yearning to be revealed to us and it is found in rest.

If you are in this place of rest today, be patient and allow His precious Spirit to minister to you, to lead you by a gentle touch of His hand and to lay out for you His heavenly blueprint of the plans for your day and the purposes for your future. Jeremiah 29:11 (emphasis my own)

Beautiful post Barbara.  Our Heavenly Father is with me at all times, and I know when I need his assistance, he is there to lend a helping hand.  Even if I don't realize he's helping.

Thanks Barbara. Beautifully written post and an inspired reminder that God *IS* our father and creator and savior. He really is all things. It's easy to think about God when things are going well, but when they are not, that's when we really need to go to Him and seek advice, comfort and guidance. I guess some of what I have brewing is dripping out huh? ;-) Thanks for the boost!

Hi Steve:  Thank you for visiting and for your post.  I believe that when we're in His Presence, nothing can bother us and peace is that beautiful by-product of knowing He is near.  Barbara :)

Barbara: Great post. I felt at peace as I let the words sink in deep. Reminds me of Psalm 63; one of my most favorite songs. God Bless!

Hi Barbara -- enjoyed your post. You have a lovely way with words and a gift for helping people see. Things are difficult for a lot of people right now and it's nice to be reminded that God is our security. Regards, C.

Hi Carol:  Thank you for the encouragement.  As difficult as things are right now, knowing God is our only true source of fulfillment helps one to walk more in faith -- which is the essence of obedience.  Thanks also for your post!  Barbara :)
