Who put the virgin in your olive oil?

Ever wonder who put the virgin in your olive oil?  I pondered this then found that virgin oil is obtained only from the olive, the fruit of the olive tree, using solely mechanical or other physical means in conditions, particularly thermal conditions, which do not alter the oil in any way. It has not undergone any treatment other than washing, decanting, centrifuging and filtering. It excludes oils obtained by the use of solvents or other methods, and those mixed with oils from other sources. It can be qualified as a natural product, and virgin olive oil can have a designation of origin when it meets the specific characteristics associated with a particular region.

WOW!  Immediately words like, pure and refined came to mind which led to more descriptives such as polished, cultivated and elegance.  Then I thought of our natural state, creation, and the Garden of Eden.  So I came to the conclusion that for me to be pure before The Father, in essence, means that there are no added components to disturb or disrupt my natural state of being - that is; the way God created me to be in the garden.

I should strive to be as a polished and priceless gem, a cultured pearl shining with the elegance of His beauty.  Ever since the Garden, God's desire has been to have a deep and loving relationship with His children.  Today we can have that same relationship by coming to Him with a pure heart seeking nothing from Him other than the desire to know Him better.  For me, the more virgin my olive oil is the less altered I am as a created woman of God.  By seeking to walk in this pure state; mind, body, spirit and soul, I am granted uninhibited entrance into His Presence. Drawing near to God in the secret place comes easily and in fuller measure when I lay before Him pure.

God doesn't seek perfection - He understands we are human.  But He does desire that we seek Him with  pure heart.  The priviledge of coming into His Presence should be met with nothing less.

GBY!  Barbara :)

Barbara: EVOO! It is the blood of this Italian man. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on purity and the Divine. Thankfully, we can be re-purified thru a filtering of the Cross. Best to you and prayers too.  -Pete

You have a great way of explaining things. I think you would put together a great devotional book.

Barbara, that was a wonderful analogy. Being "pure" is something to strive for. Your line "the way God created me to be in the garden" struck me. Kinda made me sad that we are sinners and fall so short. Thanks for the post.

Hi Pete:  Glad you enjoyed  the lesson on purity.  My desire and how God uses me in the lives of people, in particular women that I mentor, is to move them from mediocrity in their walk with Jesus to becoming the Bride of Christ.  Blessings to you.  Barbara   :)

Hi Sharon:  Thanks for the post!  Yes, the garden and communion with God.  Can you imagine! Wow, everytime I think about that it just blows me away.  That He walked and talked with Adam and Eve!  The good news is that we can have relationship with Him through intimacy -- yet sad when so many reject Him or pursue their own agendas.  I appreciate your thoughts and thanks again for visitng.  Barbara :)
