After a brief stop at my favorite grocery store today I felt compelled -- yes, complelled ... to gaze over at the bakery section. It seemed that the sweetness of the aroma along with the smell of freshly baked bread was pulling me like a magnet to "come and take a look!!" As I walked ever so carefully toward the donut section I spotted my all time favorite baked good. The infamous Apple Fritter!! As I slowly pulled the donut door open and peeked inside I was hit with this overwhelming feeling of --- well, love! I ever so gently lifted the two largest fritters I could see into a box of their very own. I thought to myself -- wow, I can't wait to get home and put on a fresh pot of coffee. It would be a wonderful afternoon; just me, my coffee pot and one warm apple fritter.
As I sat down to do some blogging I poured my coffee and grabbed a piece of the fritter. Mind you, just a piece. I thought to myself, hmm... this smells really sweet and tastes tremendously sweet too! I did some investigating by slowly pulling the donut apart to find that it was completely saturated in sugar. Suddenly I thought to myself -- that is exactly how I want to be in Jesus. Soaked fully in His love that I become a sweet aroma to the Father and to those whom I encounter every day. No kidding! I desire to be so saturated in God to the point of not being able to separate myself from His love. I want to "ooze with Jesus" just like my sweet treat.
There is nothing like being in God's Presence 24/7 -- I couldn't imagine my life any other way. From this day forward I'll never look at an apple fritter the same way again. :)

Barbara,
I pray God's blessings on your new group. It's incredibly important to minister to the segment of people you are targeting. Maybe you should call this new group "The Bakery", to follow your analogy there. LOL
God Bless!!
Hi Andrew -- thanks for the post and for visiting!

I couldn't join...send me the link if it is not up yet.

Barbara:
Well, now I won't feel so guilty when I'm at the bake shop! Always thought that deep fried goodies like apple fritters must be the devil's work! (Just kidding, they ARE heavenly, but sooooo tempting) Like your thoughts and wish I could join your new group, but, alas, blessed with an awesome spouse! TFTP!
Hi Pete and thanks for the post and photo. Now I'm hungry, thanks! :) You are in a good place with an awesome spouse and I am in a very good place as well having Jesus as my husband! Blessings. Barbara R.
